The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce (GPCC) released applications today for its Valley Young Professionals (VYP) Board of Directors.
The VYP Board of Directors is comprised of ambitious entrepreneurs and business leaders between the ages of 25 and 39 who create and oversee a program that helps retain and attract young professionals to the Greater Phoenix area. The Board is responsible for the programming and direction of VYP and helps to identify content, speakers, venues and community partnerships. Additionally, those selected will be asked to utilize their personal and professional relationships to help promote the work of the VYP as well as the Chamber.
“Being part of the VYP Board is a tremendous opportunity to get more involved in the business community and participate firsthand in many of the valuable initiatives being led by the Chamber,” said Matt Clyde, chair of the VYP Board of Directors and President of Ideas Collide. “It also gives you the unique opportunity to connect with many emerging talented leaders in the Valley. I have built network of contacts that I am sure will lead to life-long friendships.”
“Young educated professionals are an indicator and contributor of a city’s vitality and future,” said Todd Sanders, president and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce. “The Chamber’s Valley Young Professionals are driving economic opportunities and shaping the growth of sustainable companies that enable metropolitan growth in Greater Phoenix.”
You must be a current member of the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce or the Valley Young Professionals to serve on the VYP Board of Directors. Those who are not members of either organization are encouraged to inquire about membership in order to be eligible.
Board members serve an initial two-year term with the option to renew for an additional two years thereafter. Interested applicants can download an application at www.phoenixchamber.com/vyp.
Applications are due by 5:00 pm on April 3, 2015.
