The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce today announced the appointment of Jaime Molera as the new Public Affairs Chair. Molera will spearhead the Chamber’s efforts to bring a results-oriented approach to public affairs and ensure that the voice of business is heard with our elected officials.
“We are thrilled to have Jaime lead the Chamber’s public affairs committee,” said Todd Sanders, President and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce. “He brings a wealth of political experience which has helped him earn a national reputation as a trusted, results-oriented leader and a major force for civic and social progress. In addition to his extensive knowledge of the Legislative process, Jaime’s achievements in education, government affairs and business, as well as his and strong connections with members and staff, make him a valuable addition to the Chamber.”
“I’m excited for my new role as public affairs committee chair with the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce,” said Jaime Molera. “I’m looking forward to my new advocacy role as the “voice of business” for the Chamber’s 2,400+ member organizations, collaborating on critical input to policy decisions, and influencing public policy on issues that resonate with member businesses.”
Molera has held a variety of high-level state positions including president of the Arizona State Board of Education under Governor Jan Brewer (2011-2013), senior consultant and spokesperson during U.S. Senator Jon Kyl’s successful 2006 re-election campaign, superintendent of public instruction (2001-2003), and leading advisor on Policy and Legislative Affairs to Governor Jane Dee Hull (1997-2001).
“We are confident Jaime’s expertise, guidance and leadership will result in many successful legislative cycles for the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce and our member businesses,” said Mike Huckins, vice president of public affairs at the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce. “The voice of local business will be heard at the Capitol and at the City of Phoenix.”
Molera is a founding partner of Molera Alvarez, a government relations and public affairs firm based in Phoenix, Arizona. Molera Alvarez is viewed by Arizona Business Magazine, the Phoenix Business Journal and the Arizona Republic as one of the top lobbying firms in the state.
