Wells Fargo donates $7.8 million to support Arizona nonprofits

PHOENIX, April 3, 2017- Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) today announced that in 2016 the company donated $4,109,630.00 to support nonprofits in Arizona, which amounts to $11,269 in daily giving to local nonprofit organizations. Separately, Wells Fargo team members in Arizona showed their commitment by volunteering 97,267 hours with nonprofits, schools, and community organizations and donating more than $3,719,261.08.

Through our philanthropic donations and volunteerism, all of us at Wells Fargo are deeply committed to making better opportunities possible.”

In 2016, Community Development received the largest amount of donations through the Wells Fargo Foundation, totaling $1,467,180 (36%). Wells Fargo also focused its contributions in the following areas within Arizona:

 Education:  $1,087,758 (26%)
Human Services: $864,642 (21%)
Civic: $316,250 (8%)
Environment:  $267,800 (5%)
Arts and Culture: $106,000 (3%)

Wells Fargo team members across the company volunteered 1.73 million hours with 50,000 nonprofits and schools last year and contributed a total of $98.87 million to 30,000 nonprofits and schools. $60.7 million of that amount was pledged during the company’s monthlong Community Support Campaign, leading United Way Worldwide to name Wells Fargo’s employee workplace giving campaign No. 1 in the U.S. for the eighth consecutive year.
