Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton delivered his 2017 State of the City Address to a packed house of more than 1,100 business, community and government leaders at the Sheraton Grand Phoenix hotel on April 25.

Stanton used his sixth State of the City Address to highlight successes during his tenure while calling for increased education funding, filling the workforce talent pipeline and investing in the city’s infrastructure.

“I am filled with more hope and optimism for our future than ever before. Let there be no doubt about it: We are writing the greatest chapter in Phoenix history,” Stanton said. “And we’re writing that chapter together. It hasn’t been easy. We had to rebuild an economy in ashes.”
