The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce has an opening for a contractual graphic designer to join our dynamic team starting in late September for approximately two months. The graphic designer will have the opportunity to design and edit GPCC marketing collateral for both print and electronic mediums.

JOB SUMMARY: Implements and manages the graphic design creative process. Conceptualizes designs and manages projects from initial design ideas through production. Coordinates and drives consistent design throughout all GPCC, GPCF and Phoenix Forward marketing and promotional materials. Maintains branding standards with the preparation of a variety of graphic design and layout work.

NOTE: This position is for a 2-month contract. This position will begin early Sept. 2017 and run through early Oct. 2017. Chosen vendor will report to GPCC offices 1-2 times per week for a set number of hours, plus be available to work on projects on an hourly basis while not at GPCC offices. Additional contract work time maybe available at end of contract.

PRIMARY / ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

Additional tasks may be requested, but all will be art/photography/video/design/layout/branding related.

  • Develop graphic design projects, including but not limited to organizational branding, event marketing, advertisements, invitations, sales materials, social media marketing, brochures, infographics and other electronic and printed materials as requested.
  • Utilize various production techniques and tools, including InDesign, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Brainstorm and mock up ideas for presentations to internal and external clients.
  • Define and solve communication challenges from concept to design and through execution of a wide range of visual materials.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of typography and print processes.
  • Manage a high-volume workload with competing deadlines.
  • Pay keen attention to detail.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in document & web graphic design
  • Proven experience with design software (i.e. Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent project management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Willing and able to adjust to multiple demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • An online portfolio illustrating expertise in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Photography skills are a plus.
