The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce offers more than 10 committees to get involved with and let your voice be heard.

Ambassadors Business professionals who act as representatives of the Chamber, serve as greeters, facilitate networking, and encourage participation. Members serve as greeters and assist with registration at networking events, contact members to share business experiences, encourage participation and represent the Chamber at grand openings and ribbon-cutting ceremonies. This committee meets on the 1st Thursday of each month from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. in the Chamber's boardroom.

Phoenicians A committee of the Chamber, the Phoenicians are an organization of business people dedicated to the enhancement of their community through the exchange of business information and knowledge between communities. The committee regularly travels to other cities within and beyond Arizona to meet with community and business leaders, and tour their businesses and manufacturing facilities. Through this process, valuable information and understanding is shared and useful communication between Chamber of Commerce is established.

Public Affairs  Considers recommendations from the Greater Phoenix Chamber Commerce's eight issue committees and acts to make position recommendations on public policy and legislation to the Chamber's Board of Directors.

Budget and Tax  Works to promote tax and budget policies - by supporting low tax and administrative burdens that benefit all businesses, sectors and industries - that attract new investment and employment to the greater Phoenix area.

Economic Development  The committee works on efforts at all levels of government to ensure the retention of existing, and expansion of new businesses in the Greater Phoenix Metropolitan area.

Education  Focuses on issues relating to workforce development, ensuring accountability and academic performance, and advocates for adequate and efficient fiscal management and funding systems.

Employee Relations  Advocates for employment policies that encourage job retention, job creation and continued business expansion.  Also supports the rights of employers to determine appropriate employment policies and procedures as best fits the needs of their business.

Environment  Work to support environmental policies that are based on sound science and are responsive to Arizona's unique needs.  The committee responds to the needs of the business community by participating in policy making that encourages economic development in Arizona, while respecting the stat's natural resources.

Health Care  Advocates for affordable, cost-effective and quality health care options for businesses and individuals - void of cost increases brought by unnecessary government regulation, cost-shifting and coverage requirements, and is supportive of individuals' privacy rights.

Transportation Works to increase the versatility of our regional transit system, enhance airports, and improve mobility for the region's employers, goods, residents and visitors alike.  The committee analyzes proposed transportation projects and advocates for investments that will improve mobility and contribute to economic development of the region.

Water and Agriculture Policy Works to create water management and agricultural policies that will support continued business expansion and the maintenance of a high quality of life.

Councils

Hispanic Business Leadership Council The goal of this council is to support the growth and development of Hispanic businesses and keep them informed, connected and prosperous within our community. Every month, the council presents its Bridging the Gap Luncheon, an avenue to attract small business owners to participate in a forum that communicates development and trends in the business community and helps them grow their business.

Small Business Leadership Council The purpose of this council is to serve in an advisory capacity to the Chamber’s member services department and its Board of Directors. The council supports the Chamber’s mission to propel small business to the next stage of development by building a functional network of programs and providing educational resources and access to experts. The council also provides input to the Chamber’s Public Affairs Committee on issues related to small business.
