If imitation is truly the sincerest form of flattery, R&R Partners should feel pretty good. The agency created the “What happens here, stays here” campaign for Las Vegas that has become ingrained in pop culture. The slogan is shouted at bachelor parties in Vegas, spring break trips to Mexico and on cruises filled with retirees.
“We build brands and protect brands,” says Managing Director Matt Silverman (right). “We help companies position themselves, grow market share, raise awareness and visibility and improve their overall image.”
With 300 employees in seven offices around the country, R&R has an impressive list of clients and honors. The Phoenix office, which Silverman oversees, won a 2012 North American Effie Effectiveness Award for Valley Metro’s “Notes” campaign. The agency recruited five local bands to write and produce eight original songs on how to use public transportation. R&R added original animation designed around the music and lyrics and “Notes” was born. During the campaign’s first year, bus and train usage increased more than five percent.
And, when a company finds itself in trouble, R&R Partners is there to help. Silverman recalls a business that recently faced a reputational issue in social media.
“They didn’t really have an understanding of how responsible and transparent they needed to be,” Silverman says. “Our social media team quickly responded and advised them on how to make changes to prevent that negativity from spreading.”
Thanks to its public affairs division, R&R Partners has a full view of the political landscape. Silverman says, “We’re able to anticipate how legislation and regulations will affect clients. We’re able to spot issues, follow them and help formulate messages to benefit clients.”
While R&R Partners may be best known for its iconic advertising campaigns, the full-service agency touts its collaboration and integration in all areas of marketing and communication. “We bring all the tools to the table,” says Silverman.
