PHOENIX – The Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation (the Foundation) is launching the Talent Pipeline Management™ (TPM) Upskill Academy of Arizona on April 22, 2019. The Foundation received a grant from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation to launch the first-ever TPM Upskill Academy in Arizona. The Foundation solicited applications from workforce and community partners from across the state who are committed to applying the TPM™ curriculum and launching successful and sustainable workforce collaboratives in their communities.
The Foundation is proud to welcome 22 individuals representing 17 organizations as TPM Upskill Academy of Arizona participants.
“The Foundation looks forward to launching the TPM Upskill Academy of Arizona and knows that the individuals who were selected as participants will be excellent stewards of the tools they learn through the process,” said Todd Sanders, Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation president and CEO. “Every single one of them will take what they learn through this process back to their communities to help strengthen Arizona’s talent pipelines.”
The TPM Academy™ combines in-person and web-based trainings for state and local chambers, business associations, and economic development agency leaders to drive partnerships between employers and education and training providers based on industry need. To transition to the TPM Upskill Academy, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation worked with a board of advisors to update the training’s curriculum appropriately. The curriculum begins with TPM orientation, gathering appropriate stakeholders and generating buy-in for the process, and runs through six TPM strategies, concluding with post-implementation continuous improvement.
“We are proud to be working alongside the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation to scale the TPM model and increase the number of organizations utilizing the TPM framework in Arizona,” said Jennifer Mellor, Chief Innovation Officer of the Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation. “As a TPM Academy graduate, I can attest to the tremendous impact it had on the Foundation’s workforce development efforts.”
TPM Upskill Academy participants will gain the ability to implement supply chain solutions with their members and stakeholders, interact with close to 200 TPM Academy graduates, and access the TPM web portal, which activates the six TPM strategies to streamline data collection and visualization for employer partners. They will also become a part of the TPM National Learning Network of practitioners throughout the country.
“We are excited to partner with the Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation to enter this new phase of the TPM initiative where we apply the proven TPM approach to help employers develop talent pipeline solutions and improve career pathway and upskilling opportunities for their existing workforce,” said Cheryl Oldham, senior vice president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Center for Education and Workforce.
