Since 1987, the Greater Phoenix Chamber has celebrated the achievements of businesses across the Greater Phoenix region through our renowned awards programs. This year, we are thrilled to launch the Excellence in Business Awards to spotlight the best in business in the Valley.
The Excellence in Business Awards (formerly the IMPACT Awards), recognize small, mid-sized, and large private companies, as well as publicly held companies and 501(c)3 nonprofits that are making significant contributions to our state. Nominated companies demonstrate excellence in three key pillars:
- Economic Growth & Business Leadership
- Community Impact & Social Responsibility
- Workplace & Cultural Excellence
Overview of Awards
The Greater Phoenix region is known for its thriving business community. Businesses innovate, advocate, and give back to the local community to drive our economy.
The Excellence in Business Awards recognizes companies that are making significant contributions to our state. The program highlights employers who excel in the three pillars of excellence.
Business sectors are defined as follows:
- Small business: 1-99 employees, privately held organization
- Mid-size business: 100-499 employees, privately held organization
- Large business: 500+ employees, privately held organization
- Publicly held organization
- Nonprofit organization
A privately held organization is owned & operated by individuals or corporations and is not traded on a public stock exchange.
A publicly held organization is one whose ownership is distributed among general public shareholders through the trading of its shares on stock exchanges or over-the-counter markets.
A nonprofit organization is one that holds a 501(c)3 status. Nonprofits may choose to apply in the nonprofit category, or the appropriate business size category.

TIME REQUIREMENTS
- February 7, 2025: Nomination forms are due by 5 p.m.
- February 21, 2025: Application packets due by 5 p.m.
- March 25, 2025: Nominee reception (Attendance by a company representative recommended)
- March/April 2025: Selection committee interview and video shoot (1-2 company representatives will need to be present
- June 18, 2025: Greater Phoenix Chamber Excellence in Business Awards Celebration at the Hyatt Regency Phoenix
BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS FOR ELIGIBILITY
- Must be a member in good standing with the Greater Phoenix Chamber
- Must be headquartered in Arizona or have a major presence here
- Must be able to meet time commitments (detailed above)
- Must NOT be a government agency or municipality
- Must not be a member-based association
- Must NOT have been named an IMPACT Business of the Year recipient in the past ten years.
- Award Finalists must support the Excellence in Business Awards by purchasing a minimum of one table of ten at the event ($1,500).
