56th Legislature Second Regular Session Updates
On Saturday, June 15th, Arizona lawmakers adjourned sine die after passing its bipartisan $16.1 billion budget for the next fiscal year ahead of the June 30th deadline. Legislative leadership and the executive worked together to resolve the state’s budget deficit while reaching agreements on outstanding legislative priorities before the close of session. Sitting legislators running for re-election can now focus their full efforts on campaigning.
The Greater Phoenix Chamber’s Political Action Committee (PAC) conducted its candidate deliberations earlier this month and endorsed 45 bipartisan candidates for the State Legislature and five candidates for key Maricopa County offices ahead of the primary election on July 30th. The Chamber’s PAC has an esteemed history of supporting pro-business candidates for state and local offices, regardless of political affiliation. The Chamber thoroughly vets candidates to ensure their priorities promote a thriving business climate in Arizona. The Chamber has a dedicated PAC Board with representation across different industry sectors who are very engaged with local and state government relations during election years. Participating and supporting the Chamber’s PAC is an excellent way for business members to have a voice in the upcoming election to champion pro-business policy and candidates.
