Build Your Future Arizona campaign launches to promote construction jobs

Arizona is still 37,000 construction jobs short of the industry’s peak employment in 2007, and those in the construction industry are looking at creative ways to introduce people to jobs in the trades.

The Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation celebrated the launch of Build Your Future Arizona on Wednesday morning, a campaign geared toward increasing the awareness of job opportunities in construction, which can often include paid training, continuing education and high salaries.

Todd Sanders, president and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Chamber, said it is “clear that economic growth will be severely restricted if we can’t find qualified talent” for construction-oriented jobs. Through 2021, Arizona is expected to need more than 161,000 new construction jobs to keep up with demand.
