The USO is the nation’s leading nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the well-being of all people serving in the U.S. military and their families. For more than 83 years, the USO, a private non-profit organization, has served the men and women of the U.S. military and their families throughout their time in uniform – from the moment they join, through their assignments and deployments, and as they transition back to their communities. The USO is always by their side.
Locally, the USO in Arizona works to provide morale-boosting and family-strengthening programs to service members and their families throughout the state. With more than 75,000 military members and their families calling Arizona home (plus those traveling through our state), there is a constant need for USO support in Arizona. Our USO centers at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and Fort Huachuca are just two of the programs and services offered to support Arizona’s military community. Additionally, our local USO programming includes baby showers, preschool power hour reading programs, nutrition and wellness programs, kids camps, barracks bashes, pre- and post-deployment events, resiliency training, deployed family support and events, and support for the families of the fallen. With a team of more than 400 volunteers and a professional staff, the USO takes this valuable programming to military members and families located in various parts of Arizona.
USO Arizona’s impactful support is all made possible by philanthropic, corporate partners, donors, and volunteers. Becoming a USO volunteer gives local community members the chance to give more than thanks to our troops, whether it’s helping a service member with a connecting flight, serving snacks with a smile, or “welcoming home” troops from deployment, volunteers are vital to the success of the USO’s mission.
