FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Phoenix, AZ – Global Credit Union partners gathered at the historic Phoenix Country Club for the annual Global Credit Union Foundation Fairway Friends Golf Tournament November 4. Tournament sponsors donated $130,000 to support Operation Homefront and Girl Scouts Cactus-Pine.
“Our annual golf tournament always raises considerable funds for local nonprofits,” said Geoff Lundfelt, President of the Global Credit Union Foundation. “But this year I am especially grateful for the generosity of our members, friends, and business partners. These funds will do significant good in the community, and I can’t thank you enough.”
$65,000 was given to the Girl Scouts Cactus-Pine, whose mission is to help girls create the world they want to live in and strive to make it better every single day. They explore their strengths, take on new challenges, and can always be themselves, regardless of background or ability.
$65,000 went to Operation Homefront in support of their mission to build strong, stable, and secure military families so they can thrive, not simply struggle to get by, in the communities—OUR communities—they have worked so hard to protect.
The Global Credit Union Foundation Fairway Friends Golf Tournament is an annual Foundation event that brings together business partners, credit union leaders and volunteers, and the community to support Foundation nonprofit partners.
