Phoenix, Ariz. (Feb. 24, 2025) — Leading Phoenix nonprofit St. Joseph the Worker (SJW) recently announced the 18th Annual feeney/winthrop Benefit Concert, a highly anticipated evening of acoustic music and support of its mission to empower individuals through quality employment. The event will take place on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Tempe Center for the Arts.

Since its founding in 1988, SJW has helped over 40,000 thousand individuals across 50+ ZIP codes in the Valley. Centered on its commitment to work, SJW continues to dispense the resources needed to remove employment barriers and guide clients toward financial success and self-sufficiency.

In the 2024 fiscal year, SJW’s Employment Without Barriers program provided resume preparation, interview coaching, transportation vouchers and professional attire assistance to more than 7,000 individuals, helping 4,500 secure stable employment. The average hourly wage for those newly employed is $18.55, with an impressive 88% receiving associated benefits.

Matt Feeney, partner at Snell & Wilmer, reflected on the event’s legacy, saying, “It’s amazing to think that we’re now in our 18th year of hosting this event for St. Joseph the Worker. Over the past 17 years, this event has raised more than $670,000, directly supporting SJW’s clients on their journey to self-sufficiency. As a founding member of both the nonprofit and feeney/winthrop, I’m proud of the impact we’ve made. Looking back at the fun we’ve had and the vital funds we’ve raised, it’s truly an honor to be part of something that has made such a lasting difference.”

“The excitement for this year’s benefit concert is high, as three of our founders will be attending,” said SJW CEO Carrie Masters. “They helped establish SJW over 37 years ago, and to see how their vision has transformed thousands of lives across the Phoenix metro area is truly inspiring. That’s what makes this concert so special. Attendees know that every dollar raised will support vital programs that create a real impact in our community.”

Admission for the event is $25 per ticket and can be purchased on the Tempe Center for the Arts website.

For those wishing to contribute to SJW, SJW is a Qualifying Charitable Organization (QCO) for the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit. Arizona residents can use QCO code: 20248 to receive a dollar-for-dollar Arizona state tax credit of up to $470 for individuals and $938 for couples filing jointly. About St. Joseph the Worker

St. Joseph The Worker (SJW) was formed in 1988 in response to the unhoused community saying, “we want to work, but don’t have the tools”. Since then, SJW has been forging pathways to self-sufficiency with employment at the core, believing the only way out of poverty is a paycheck. Common barriers clients face when looking for and upon finding stable employment include access to transportation, money for interview and uniform attire, lack of certifications for the role and housing. By breaking down barriers clients often face when job searching, SJW is providing an opportunity for clients to build a sustainable life free of government assistance.
