(SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – June 11, 2025) – Delta Dental of Arizona is pleased to announce that Shahzad Shah has joined the health and wellness company as its senior vice president of information technology. This newly created executive leadership role will shape and implement the organization’s technology vision, lead the IT department, and drive innovation that supports the company’s mission, vision, and long-term goals. He will also lead IT security, artificial and business intelligence, data insights, and enterprise systems across the company’s statewide footprint.

Shah brings more than 20 years of experience to the role, most recently a managing director of Publicis Sapient, the digital business transformation hub of Publicis Groupe, which employs more than 20,000 people across 72 offices worldwide. Shah served as co-leader of the healthcare practice, guiding efforts that led to more than $100 million in growth; served as the healthcare executive advisor to provider, payer, and research institute operations on GenAI algorithm; and championed investments in AI capability for software development and legacy modernization that increased product development speed to market.
He previously served as chief technology officer and chief enterprise architect of Blue Cross Blue Shield, where he was the single point of accountability for digital strategy, planning, and governance on behalf the BCBS network of 33 companies and as chief technology officer and information technology services manager at British Petroleum, where he led North American IT and was a member of the global executive team.
In addition to his role with Delta Dental of Arizona, Shah also serves as a senior advisor to Warburg Pincus, which is among the top 10 global private equity firms in the healthcare payer sector.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in liberal arts and sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his master’s degree in business administration from Illinois Institute of Technology. Currently, Shah lives in north Scottsdale with his wife. His three adult children are currently pursuing higher education in the fields of business and law.
