Tolleson, Ariz., August 11, 2025— Fry’s Food Stores, a division of Kroger Co., is proud to announce two significant leadership appointments within Arizona’s pharmacy industry. Stephanie Spark, health and wellness division leader, has been appointed to the Arizona Board of Pharmacy (AZBOP) and Jaime von Glahn, pharmacy leader, has been named President of the Arizona Pharmacy Association (AzPA). Both women will share their extensive industry expertise statewide in these highly respected positions.
Spark was appointed by Governor Katie Hobbs for her five-year term position on the AZBOP, an organization dedicated to protecting the health, safety, and welfare of Arizona citizens by regulating the practice of pharmacy and the distribution and sale of medications and devices. This is accomplished through licensing, permitting, promulgating and reviewing state rules and regulations, inspections, and investigations related to pharmacy practice and drug-related activities.
A licensed Arizona pharmacist for 22 years, Spark has served in many leadership roles across Fry’s Food Stores. As Director of Pharmacy, she oversees pharmacy operations statewide, supporting teams and initiatives that improve patient care and community health. A graduate of Midwestern University – Glendale with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, Spark is a certified immunizer and a member of the Arizona Pharmacy Association and APhA, and was honored with the AzPA Hall of Fame Award in 2024.
“As a pharmacist and leader in the Fry’s organization, it is incredibly important to me to give back to the community and represent the profession. The appointment to the Arizona Board of Pharmacy gives me the honor of serving the citizens of Arizona in my field of expertise,” said Spark. “As a member of the AZBOP, I am fulfilling my personal and professional goal of giving back and serving the community.”
The Arizona Pharmacy Association (AzPA) is the unified voice of pharmacy professionals in Arizona, advocating for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians across all practice settings since 1910. As the state’s only pharmacy association, AzPA is dedicated to advancing pharmacy to improve healthcare through advocacy, education, and professional development. They work to influence legislation, expand the scope of pharmacy practice, provide crucial continuing education, and offer vital networking opportunities, ensuring pharmacy professionals are empowered to deliver high-quality patient care and that their contributions to healthcare are recognized.

With over 31 years of experience at Fry’s, Jaime von Glahn oversees 27 pharmacy locations across the Phoenix area, bringing a deep commitment to patient-centered care and extensive leadership, operational, and clinical expertise to her role. Driven by a passion for advancing medication safety and improving health outcomes through comprehensive assessments, she is also a steadfast advocate for clinical pharmacy services, health policy, and healthcare reform. Jaime von Glahn actively leads within the AzPA where she continually pursues her passion for education, advocacy, and mentoring future pharmacy professionals.
“Being the AzPA President is a profound honor and responsibility,” said on Jaime von Glahn. “I am committed to giving back to the profession that shaped me by advocating for our profession, strengthening connections, and creating better opportunities for all pharmacy professionals, ultimately ensuring healthcare access in our communities. I’ll lead with integrity and a clear vision to advance pharmacy’s vital role in healthcare.”
“Stephanie and Jaime are invaluable Fry’s associates, truly deserving of these prestigious leadership appointments,” said Monica Garnes, president of Fry’s Food Stores. “They embody the Fry’s culture, inspiring their teams daily to be innovative leaders.
