PHOENIX, AZ — In response to ongoing food insecurity and uncertainty around SNAP benefits, AZ Blue committed $100,000 to ensure more Arizonans have access to nutritious meals.
This funding filled various food banks with essential items throughout the state including Maricopa, Pima, Coconino, Cochise, Pinal, Gila, and Apache counties through partners such as Local First, Salvation Army, and Arizona Food Bank Network.
“Everyone deserves the security of a healthy meal without sacrificing other essentials,” said Paul Penzone, VP, Chief Community Relations Officer at AZ Blue. “We’re stepping up to ensure that our neighbors have the resources they need during these challenging times.”
Nearly 900,000 Arizonans—including families, seniors, and veterans—depend on SNAP each month. AZ Blue understands that nutritious food is more than a necessity—it’s fundamental to health and well-being.
This initiative is part of AZ Blue in Action, the company’s ongoing commitment to strengthening communities and addressing critical health needs across Arizona. For more information on how AZ Blue supports its communities and how you can help take action, visit www.azblue.com/azblueinaction
