ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Thanks to the generous donations of Global Credit Union members, the Global Credit Union Foundation’s 2025 Cash for Cans® donation drive raised $110,000 for local food banks and pantries.

“The Cash for Cans fundraising drive is a wonderful example of what can be accomplished when credit union members lend a hand to those in need,” said Geoff Lundfelt, President of the Global Credit Union Foundation. “More than ever, addressing food insecurity among families and children is one of the most pressing issues we face as a community. Working together, we can provide much more support to local food banks and pantries than we could ever do individually. We cannot thank our members enough for their kindness.”

Global Credit Union and the Foundation partnered for the fundraiser by collecting cash donations at neighborhood Global branches then distributing funds to food banks and pantries in Alaska, Maricopa County in Arizona, the High Desert region of California, Idaho’s Kootenai County, and Washington State.

The annual Global Foundation Cash for Cans donation drive coincides with National Hunger Action Month.
