House of Miracles, Inc. (HOMI) aims at equipping individuals with the necessary tools and resources to enhance their mental health and wellness. Our multifaceted approach includes nutrition education, supportive housing, and workforce development, all aimed at fostering resilience and serenity. We believe that by empowering individuals, they can grow and flourish with confidence.
Vision for the Future
HOMI envisions a world where all individuals have equal access to essential services, including mental health support, substance abuse counseling, affordable housing, and job readiness assistance.
*Our Role as a Resource Agency
As a vital resource agency, HOMI receives daily social service referrals from UNITEUS/Community Cares. We are committed to providing a comprehensive array of resources to individuals seeking:
Transitional and Supportive Housing: We assist individuals in finding stable, safe, and supportive living arrangements. Food Assistance: Assisting individuals and their families with resources around Maricopa County that can provide access to nutritious food options. Clothing and Toiletries: We provide essential items to those who may not have the means to obtain them and provide referrals for resources around the county. Employment Services: Our workforce development initiatives help individuals improve their job readiness and secure meaningful employment.
Our Impact
HOMI has consistently worked with diverse demographics, addressing a range of social service needs. A few of our initiatives include:
Mental Health and Wellness Support: We offer various resources aimed at improving mental health, including mental health and wellness workshops, health, and wellness summits, and collaborating with social service organizations to assist their employees with “compassion fatigue.” We understand that by prioritizing mental health, we help individuals build resilience and cope with life’s challenges.
Workforce Development: Our programs focus on job readiness, offering training and resources that empower individuals to secure meaningful employment. This not only boosts their self-esteem but also contributes to the economic growth of the community. Our demographics include seniors, teens, low-income families, and those that are unhoused. 3.Children’s Financial Literacy: Through engaging workshops, we equip children with essential financial skills, setting them up for future success and responsible economic management.
Internship Collaboration with Grand Canyon University
HOMI is proud to collaborate with Grand Canyon University, supporting interns on their journey to earn a Master’s degree in Social Work. This partnership provides students with a unique opportunity to gain firsthand experience by working directly with our organization. Interns receive a comprehensive overview of the social service needs within Maricopa County, equipping them with the skills and insights necessary to make a meaningful impact in the community.
HOMI/SNAP Outreach & Education Partner
As a SNAP Outreach Partner HOMI will connect low-income individuals and families with the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) by providing information and insight into the application and recertification process, offering referrals to food resources, and combating misconceptions about benefits, essentially acting as a bridge to healthy food access within the community.
Community Engagement
At HOMI, we believe in the power of community. Our efforts extend beyond workshops; we actively engage with individuals in the community to understand their needs and provide tailored support. By fostering relationships and creating a sense of belonging, we enhance the overall well-being of those we serve.
As we continue to expand our programs and reach more people, we remain steadfast in our mission to create a humanity where everyone can flourish. Through collaboration, commitment, and compassion, HOMI’s goal is to make a lasting difference in the lives of individuals and the community.
