Terminal 3 Parking Guidance Pilot Program
A new parking guidance pilot program was recently launched in the Terminal 3 garage to help drivers find open spaces faster.
The camera-based system uses sensors to track parking availability in real time. Red and green lights show what spots are occupied and open, helping reduce the time drivers spend searching for parking.
The “Portier VISION” system was developed with airport contractor ACE Parking. Terminal 3 has more than 2,000 spaces, and the airport plans to expand the system to the larger Terminal 4 garage.
Early Bag Check
This free and convenient service allows passengers to check their luggage before arriving at the terminal, helping them travel lighter and more easily on the PHX Sky Train® and save time by skipping airline ticket counters. Early Bag Check is available daily from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m., including holidays, at the Rental Car Center and East Economy Parking.
Passengers flying domestically on the following participating airlines can use the service:
Alaska Airlines
American Airlines
Delta Air Lines
Frontier Airlines
Southwest Airlines
United Airlines
Early Bag Check counters are located at the Rental Car Center and East Economy Parking.
While there is no additional fee for the service, airline baggage fees still apply.
America’s Friendliest Airport® recently introduced the PHX Free Little Library. Located at the Culture Corner in Terminal 3, this free and convenient amenity offers books for readers of all ages and allows visitors to take a book or donate one for others to enjoy.
Save Time at Security With TSA’s New Expedited Screening Options
TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID
TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID is now available in Terminals 3 and 4. The system uses facial-recognition technology to verify travelers’ identities so they can move through security without showing a physical ID.
After opting in through their airline profile, travelers can use a dedicated lane where a camera confirms their identity. This process offers a quicker, more convenient way to get through security.
Travelers should still carry a physical ID as a backup.
New electronic gates (eGates) are now available in Terminals 3 and 4. Available as an opt‑in feature for CLEAR Plus members, eGates use biometric verification to confirm a traveler’s identity in under five seconds. Travelers then proceed directly to bag screening, bypassing the traditional TSA podium check for a faster and seamless screening process.
