A Message from President & CEO, Todd Sanders

Dear Chamber Member,

In the past two weeks, a lot has changed for our state and our nation. COVID-19, the infection caused by the coronavirus, is here. With 27 confirmed cases and confirmed community spread, it’s essential that we are all diligent in proactively protecting community health.

As COVID-19 has progressed in Arizona, I’ve been meeting with government leaders and community organizations to fully understand how the business community can meaningfully contribute to flattening the curve and limiting the spread of disease.

Right now, the situation is constantly evolving, and our community is receiving updated directives and best practices daily.

As your Chamber, we are monitoring the situation on your behalf and continually working with our leaders to ensure that our community is making choices that will keep Arizona strong and ensure a swift economic recovery for our state.

With that said, I wanted to personally let you know what we’re doing to take care of your business and take care of our community during this time.

COVID-19 Resource Page: Two weeks ago, our team developed a focused resource page for Arizona businesses.  Keeping businesses informed is a top priority for the Greater Phoenix Chamber. With all of the recent developments regarding COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, we developed a resource page to provide continuous updates and resources to keep your organizations informed and prepared. This page is being updated regularly to make it easier for your business to stay informed.

Business Resources: Our Chamber has many members who have reached out to us and already begun creating local support for small and medium-sized businesses. When these resources are ready, you will receive immediate communication from us. We are here to take care of businesses, and that is what we plan to do while our community collectively combats COVID-19.

Chamber Operations: At this time, we’ve made some tough calls for our own organization. On Monday, March 16, we closed our physical office and moved to completely remote-work. Our employees are working as hard as ever to serve your business while protecting their health.

Chamber Events: In response to the Centers for Disease Control guidelines to discontinue large events and social gatherings with 50 or more people for the next eight weeks, we’ve postponed or cancelled several of our upcoming events. We understand how important our event platforms are to both building your business and developing your employees. We are hard at work rescheduling events and finding innovative ways for our members to connect and grow through virtual platforms.

Impact Survey: As we continue to pivot and exercise flexibility in our daily business practices, we want to hear from you. Now more than ever, your voice and your feedback are vitally important to our team. Take this survey and tell us how we can take care of your business! We will be utilizing our digital platforms to showcase how the community can support your business while still showing social respect to others.

I know that this is a challenge and an unprecedented time. I urge you and your teams, to remain calm. Listen to the recommendations of our local leaders—practice strong hygiene habits, social distance, and isolate, find new ways of doing business. And remember, your Chamber is here for you!

Sincerely,

Todd Sanders
