Valley Young Professionals is a program of the Greater Phoenix Chamber (Chamber), for up-and-coming young professionals in the Valley ages 25-39. The VYP program provides experiences for its members to build lasting relationships, engage in professional development opportunities and become change-makers in the community. The VYP Board members are chosen based on their past involvement in VYP and the vision that they bring to the Board.
This month get to know Justin O’Connell of VincentBenjamin and Lindsey Thompson of Harkins Theatres as they share their experiences and insights gained as a VYP member.

Question: What have you gained from your experience as a VYP Board member?
Answer: As a VYP Board member, I have enjoyed getting more involved in the community I call home. Besides spreading the word about all the awesome opportunities for young professionals here in the Valley, I love learning more about the issues facing our community and how we can collectively do to solve them.
Question: What experiences and perspectives do you bring to the board that have been valuable to the Valley Young Professionals group?
Answer: So far in my career, I have been a teacher, an educational consultant, a co-leader of a non-profit and now a business development manager for a recruiting agency. I hope that my diverse background and recruiting skills have helped the VYP board achieve our goals of providing experiences for our members to build lasting relationships, engage in professional development opportunities and become change-makers in the community.

Question: What have you gained from your experience as a VYP Board member?
Answer: As a VYP Board member, I have enjoyed making a positive impact in our community, building lasting relationships with other professionals, and continuing to build engaging programs for young professionals in the Valley.
Question: What opportunities do you see in the future for young professionals in the Valley?
Answer: There’s immense opportunity for young professionals in Phoenix; we live in a city that is now the 5th largest in the nation! With the rapid growth of companies moving to Phoenix and with its entrepreneurial spirit, I see expanding opportunities in the Valley that includes mentorship programs and networking in a variety of sectors for young professionals. кредит на карту
