FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PHOENIX, ARIZ. (October 2nd, 2020) The Central and Northern Arizona Chapter of the American Red Cross is recruiting local leaders to the Red Cross Board of Directors.  Local board members are the “face of the Red Cross” and play an essential role in delivering on the Red Cross mission.  Local professionals interested in learning more about serving on the Central & Northern Arizona Chapter board are encouraged to contact Kurt Kroemer, Regional Executive, at kurt.kroemer@redcross.org for additional information.

Mission

The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.

Local Red Cross Board Overview

The role of the Red Cross board is to partner with and provide guidance to the Executive Director or Regional Executive in developing and monitoring local strategies to deliver mission-related services, raise funds in accordance with the Red Cross goals, and along with the Executive Director, be recognized as the “Face of the Red Cross” in their communities. Close partnerships with their respective executive enable the Board to focus primarily on the community to effectively mobilize community resources around the Red Cross mission. Service on a Red Cross board is entirely voluntary and without compensation.

The ideal board member is a passionate leader who desires to impact his or her community.  Board members are ambassadors for the Red Cross. The latter can effectively connect the Red Cross with their community and harness humanity’s power to build a more resilient community, save lives, and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies.  Board members are influential in the communities they serve and represent the Red Cross and its goals.
