Curt Moroney – Business Development Executive

What’s your most used productivity hack?

For me, productivity has a direct correlation to how my day gets started and ends; making a few simple steps to give myself the best chance of being productive. Taking a few minutes at the end of each day to clean up my workspace and prioritize a list for the following day. Resisting the urge to reach for my phone straight into news and emails first thing after waking up and instead, investing a few minutes in quiet thought with my morning coffee to set my intention for the day….or listening to music for a few minutes before tackling emails, social meals and all the other outside influences. Respecting and being mindful of those last few moments at the end of the day, and even more so- the beginning each day- provides me with the best chance at staying productive and nimble, when the days’ unpredictable events attempt to derail that. Which as we know happens about every day in way or another.

What’s the most exciting part of your job?

There are really two aspects of my job that really excite me. Learning about all the work being done on behalf of the business community at a city and state level such as policy and public affairs. In my past professional life, my focus was on the marketing and exposure components of promoting a single business so learning about the Chambers initiatives from such a higher-level perspective- I am finding very interesting. The other part is having the opportunity to engage with such a wide array of industry and businesses of varying size. I’m finding it just as rewarding meeting a new small independent business owner who’s just relocated to the Valley, as it is forming a new relationship within one of the larger businesses that are so valuable to our community.

What TV shows are you currently binge watching?

I am a big sports fan, so recently I’ve been watching older episodes of ESPN’s 30 for 30, and other sports documentaries. I just watched the Tiger Woods documentary on HBO last week which I really enjoyed, especially being a fan of his for many years. Besides that, I’m just getting ready to start Yellowstone which I’ve heard so much about, that one sounds right up my alley too.

Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?

No hidden talents per say, although perhaps they’re still hidden, and I’ll discover them in 2021! My main passion or hobby is spending time in the outdoors. Camping, hunting, and fishing…. I feel realty fortunate in that Arizona has so much accessible public land for those wanting to experience nature, compared with so many other parts of the country. I’ve had so many wonderful memories and experiences in the outdoors my whole life and keeps me kind of grounded- so it’s an activity I always gravitate to.

Brittany Moore – Communications Manager

Where are you from?

I grew up in Silverthorne, CO, and attended the University of Colorado at Boulder. Go Buffs! I have two bachelor’s degrees in Broadcast News and Business Marketing, including a certificate in Leadership.  I spent the last 7 years as a TV Morning Anchor in Wyoming and Kansas.

What motivates you at work?

I strive to make a difference and believe in the Chamber’s mission to support, strengthen, and advocate for businesses.

What is your favorite aspect of the Greater Phoenix area?

I just moved to Phoenix and am enjoying the weather and sunshine all throughout the year!  Phoenix has so many things to offer from the many outdoor activities to sports and meeting/networking with new people.

What’s your most used productivity hack?

To Do lists!  Staying organized with an updated list and a good calendar allows me to get things done effectively and efficiently.

What’s the most exciting part of your job?

I enjoy getting to create inspiring stories and share important information with the business community.  Whether it’s through web articles, video, or social media posts I thoroughly enjoy meeting new people and learning about businesses in the area in order to generate awareness on the great work being done in the Valley.

What TV shows are you currently binge watching?

My favorites lately are: The Queen’s Gambit, Undoing, and The Crown.

What do you like to do outside of work for fun?

I enjoy reading, skiing, hiking, and good times with friends & family!

Gisselle Loera – Multimedia Coordinator

Where are you from?

I was born in Phoenix, Arizona but moved to my parent’s hometown in Mexico when I was 2 weeks old. From there we moved to El Paso, Texas and then made our way back to Phoenix when I was in grade school.

What motivates you at work?

What motivates me at work is the fact that I know people depend on me. I know there are others on my team that rely on my work getting finished so that they can complete theirs. It reminds me to continue to keep my productivity high.

What do you like to do outside of work for fun?

Outside of work for fun I exercise… A LOT! I love working out 5x a week for at least 2 hours each time. On top of that, in Nov. I started going on hikes every Saturday with my older brother, which I am grateful for since I get to see and bond with him, even though we are 12 years apart. I also love to cook, read (huge book worm), and bake.

Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?

A hobby of mine is learning Korean. I watch and listen to a lot of Korean content and I decided I wanted to understand what I was watching! In the fall of 2019, I decided to take Korean classes before graduating ASU. I have kept studying ever since. 한국어는 매우 어렵지만 잘말하고 싶습니다. (Korean is very difficult, but I want to speak it well.)  I would say a hidden talent of mine is dance. I absolutely love it along with singing. I at least can carry a tune, but I’ve been told my voice is nice. I’m also good at baking since I’ve been learning at my mom’s side since I was 7 (she’s been a baker/cake decorator her entire life).
