CONCORD RESPONDS TO SUPPLY CHAIN AND WORKFORCE CHALLENGES IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

While growth in Arizona continues, the construction industry has been faced with a unique set of challenges. Material costs and availability are a continued issue across the country. In addition to supply chain, workforce challenges are also an issue that can impact client projects.

“Concord General Contracting leverages its 50 years of experience plus innovative technology to navigate construction challenges,” said Grenee Martacho, CEO. Concord has established a deep bench of resources and sub-contractors. It possesses the experience to navigate logistics and early planning to provide solutions and mitigate construction delays. Taking a proactive stance in workforce development, Concord is a big supporter of the Build Your Future Arizona.

To raise awareness of the career opportunities and demand in the construction trade, Concord recently participated in an a BYFAZ Educator Externship. This program provided an opportunity for Concord to present to educators across the state and discuss the variety of career paths in construction available today. In addition to the high demand and earning potential in craft trades, technology careers in 3-D modeling and drone piloting, estimating, project management, marketing, and accounting roles are necessary for daily operations. “We’re proud to be an active member of BYFA and the great work GPC is doing to support workforce development,” said Martacho.

With an emphasis on the Ultimate Client Experience (UCE), Concord takes its work on active campuses to the next level. Going into Arizona public school classrooms, Concord teaches about the construction process and the different teams that work together to construct a building. This includes a variety of career paths to support the construction industry. In the past seven years, Concord has spent nearly 900 volunteer hours in public classrooms.

Concord General Contracting is a well-established, mid-sized firm that excels in the collaborative construction of quality commercial, municipal, and non-profit projects throughout Arizona. For nearly 50 years, Concord has partnered with architects and clients to provide creative solutions to maximize return on construction investments.
