Valley Young Professionals (VYP) is looking for dynamic leaders to join its Board of Directors
The Greater Phoenix Chamber is accepting Board of Directors applications for Valley Young Professionals (VYP), the premier group for up-and-coming professionals in the Greater Phoenix region.
The VYP Board of Directors is comprised of business leaders between the ages of 25 to 39 who are passionate about community involvement and are actively creating and overseeing a program that helps retain and attract young professionals to the region. The board is responsible for the direction of VYP and helps to identify content, speakers, venues, and community partnerships. Additionally, those selected are asked to utilize their personal and professional relationships to help promote the work of VYP and the Chamber.
“This is an exciting time for the VYP Board of Directors as we look to expand and recruit the next group of talented leaders to join our Board in the upcoming year,” said Stella O’Rourke, director of philanthropy & special events, Arizona Coyotes, and VYP’s board chair. “This is a difficult but exhilarating process as we always have so many incredibly driven and qualified candidates. However, we know our newest Board members will continue to allow us to advance the Board and VYP programs and events.”
“Facilitating the success of young professionals is vital to the future of our economy,” said Todd Sanders, president and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Chamber. “VYP is the Chamber’s tool to connect up-and-coming business leaders, provide growth opportunities, and ensure our young professionals are connected to our community.”
The Valley Young Professionals program also serves as a leadership pipeline to the Chamber’s board of directors. VYP Board members have access to exclusive events, leadership development, and mentorship opportunities.
Applications for the VYP Board of Directors can be found at this link. Applicants for the VYP Board of Directors must be members of the Greater Phoenix Chamber or Valley Young Professionals. Board members serve an initial two-year term with the option to renew for an additional two years. Those who are not members are encouraged to inquire about membership to be eligible. Applications are open on Monday, April 1, 2024, and are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024.
