The Greater Phoenix Chamber’s Board approved support for three measures that will be on the General Election ballot this November:
- Connect Maricopa (Prop 479) would extend the current one-half cent sales tax in Maricopa County that provides funding for transportation and infrastructure.
- Maricopa County Community College District Aggregate Expenditure Limitation is currently based on FY 1979-80 expenses. If approved by Maricopa County voters, this funding formula would be adjusted for FY 2023-24 expenses.
- SCR 1015 (Initiative; Referendum; Signatures; Legislative Districts) is a referral sent to the voters by the Arizona Legislature. This would amend the Arizona constitution to change signature requirements for the initiatives and referendums process.
The Greater Phoenix Chamber has been a proponent of each of these important measures and will actively promote their passage on the ballot this November. The Chamber will also consider other measures as they come along.
