FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

January 13, 2025

The Greater Phoenix Chamber (the Chamber) announces its legislative priorities for the First Regular Session of Arizona’s 57th Legislature. During this session, the Chamber will support the extension of Proposition 123, which aims to increase funding for K-12 education, while making fiscally responsible infrastructure investments, and promoting business-friendly regulatory policies to spur economic development.

“The Chamber’s utmost goal is to advocate for policies this session to put Arizona in the spotlight as a leader in national and global economies and support business growth and prosperity,” said Todd Sanders, president & CEO of the Greater Phoenix Chamber.

Serving as a unified voice for 2,400 member businesses at each level of government, the Chamber’s public affairs team advocates pro-business and pro-growth policies on behalf of its members.  “The Greater Phoenix Chamber’s 2025 legislative agenda reflects the priorities of our members—first and foremost, we want to ensure that businesses have the tools they need to navigate through the current changes in government and economic challenges,” said Mike Huckins, senior vice president of public affairs and IT operations for the Chamber. Below are the Chamber’s 2025 top legislative priorities.

Passage of Proposition 123 Extension

The extension of Proposition 123 aims to continue the increased distribution of the State Land Trust Fund for K-12 education. This initiative is designed to provide additional funding to support educational programs and resources for schools and teachers.

Fiscally Responsible Infrastructure Investments

The Chamber is steadfast in advocating for fiscally responsible investments in infrastructure, including public safety, transportation, and other projects that drive economic development. These initiatives contribute to the overall economic growth of the region and ensure businesses and residents have sustainable infrastructure moving into the future.

Promote Business Friendly Regulatory Policies

The focus here is on advocating for regulatory policies conducive to business development. The goal is to ensure that these policies do not hinder business operations or impose unnecessary mandates on individual businesses, thereby creating a more favorable environment for business growth.
