The Greater Phoenix Chamber is closely monitoring ongoing Colorado River negotiations and related discussions around water conservation and long-term supply planning.
As the current deadline for a multi-state agreement approaches, it is critical that any final framework reflects fairness and shared responsibility among the seven basin states. Arizona has invested for decades in conservation, infrastructure, and responsible water management. It would be inequitable and unacceptable for Arizona to shoulder a disproportionate share of future reductions.
Water security is foundational to Arizona’s economic vitality, growth, and quality of life. Our priority remains ensuring a stable and predictable environment where our members and the broader business community can operate, invest, and plan with confidence. Any agreement must recognize Arizona’s leadership in conservation and protect our communities, employers, and critical industries from unequal impacts.
We strongly support a durable, balanced seven-state solution. The Chamber will remain engaged and will advocate for policies that defend Arizona’s water security, economic competitiveness, and long-term sustainability on behalf of our members and Arizona’s business community.
