Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation Opens 2027 Grant Application Window; Vision Programs Eligible for Funding for First Time

(SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Sept. 1, 2026) — The Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation is pleased to announce the application window is now open for its 2027 grant cycle, with grants ranging from $5,000 to $30,000 available to organizations serving underserved and uninsured Arizonans through programs focused on oral health, medical-dental integration, food insecurity and, for the first time, vision. Eligible programs may include oral health education, disease prevention and access to dental care; programs that integrate oral health with medical care; food banks, after-school and weekend food programs for children and senior food delivery programs; and vision education, prevention and treatment programs. To give perspective, in 2026, the Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation awarded $838,372 in grants to 37 nonprofit organizations that work with underserved populations of all ages through oral health and nutritional programs.

“Good health is about more than any one area of care, and our investments in Arizona communities reflect that,” said Michael Jones, president and chief executive officer of Delta Dental of Arizona and chair of the Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation. “Delta Dental of Arizona has offered vision benefits for nearly 20 years, so expanding our grant program to include vision is a natural next step in how we support whole-person health. By investing in programs focused on oral health, medical-dental integration, food insecurity and now vision, we can help more Arizonans access the care and resources they need to live healthier lives.”

Applications are due Thursday, Oct. 8 by 5 p.m. Grant recipients will be notified in late 2026, with funding made available soon after. Organizations are eligible to receive one grant per year, with awards made for a one-year period. Funds may be used to support appropriate programmatic expenses, salaries, supplies and equipment.

“We see firsthand how creative and resourceful Arizona nonprofits are in addressing the needs of the people they serve,” said Barb Kozuh, executive director of the Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation. “Adding vision to our 2027 grant program gives us another way to support that work, whether an organization is connecting someone to dental or vision care, addressing food insecurity or finding better ways to connect oral and medical care. We are looking for strong programs with measurable outcomes that can make a meaningful difference.”

Eligible applicants for the 2027 grant cycle include 501(c)(3) organizations in good standing with the Arizona Corporation Commission. Public schools, federally recognized Indian tribes and governmental entities are also eligible. Organizations may apply for grants in four program areas: oral health, medical-dental integration, food insecurity and vision.
