AZ Blue Opens Nominations for Nurses Who Inspire Contest

Arizonans invited to recognize nurses whose compassion, dedication, and service make a lasting difference

Nurses are often the first to comfort a patient, the steady voice during difficult moments, and the one who helps individuals and families navigate their health journeys. To celebrate the extraordinary impact nurses make every day, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (AZ Blue) is now accepting nominations for its third annual Nurses Who Inspire contest.

The contest invites Arizonans to nominate a nurse who has gone above and beyond to care for patients, support coworkers, strengthen communities, and inspire health across the state. Self-nominations are also welcome.

“Nurses are at the heart of healthcare,” said Dr. Cara Christ, Chief Medical Officer at AZ Blue. “Every day, they show compassion, expertise and dedication while helping people through some of life’s most important moments. This contest is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the nurses whose commitment continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Arizonans.”

AZ Blue will recognize three Arizona nurses whose stories exemplify the spirit of nursing. Winners will each receive:

  • A $5,000 cash prize
  • Tickets to an Arizona Diamondbacks game and on-field recognition

Nominees should be practicing nurses in Arizona who demonstrate exceptional compassion, put patients first, support colleagues, serve their communities, and create a lasting impact on the people around them.

Community members are encouraged to submit nominations that highlight personal stories, meaningful experiences, and examples of how a nurse’s care, kindness, leadership, or advocacy has made a difference.

Nominations are open through September 28. To learn more or submit a nomination, visit azblue.com/nominateanurse.
