56th Legislature Second Regular Session Updates
The Chamber’s Public Affairs team has been hard at work this May. We have a little over a month for the Legislature to pass the fiscal year 2024-2025 budget before the June 30th deadline. Revenue numbers from the latest financial advisory committee were moving in a more positive direction. The Legislature meets once a week and will continue budget negotiations.
The Public Affairs team welcomed Arizona State Representative Leo Biasiucci to a recent Public Affairs meeting. He is thrilled to connect with the business community and hopes to continue ongoing conversations to understand our member’s needs before session ends. The final scheduled Public Affairs meeting was on May 17th, and we will meet again if necessary before taking a break for the summer.
The Chamber’s Political Action Committee (PAC) board recently finished candidate endorsement interviews for this year’s election to establish who meets the Chamber’s vetted business-friendly criteria. In the upcoming month, the board will conduct deliberations and finalize endorsements for the primary election.
