GPCC President & CEO Todd Sanders

Margret Mead famously said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”

During the course of the past five years, a talented group of individuals stepped away from the traditional Chamber model to reimagine and re-engineer our organization from the top down to meet the needs of today’s ever-changing landscape. We’ve created innovative platforms for convening and connecting community leaders while driving change that promotes economic growth and prosperity. And you may have noticed that we have also changed our name to simply, the Greater Phoenix Chamber.

This change goes beyond a new name. It signifies a shift from the Chamber of the past, to the Chamber of tomorrow.

Fiscal 2018 was a year of growth. It was a year of focus. It was a year of change.  During this transformative year, the Greater Phoenix Chamber has emerged as a market leader in workforce development and wellness, led the way in shaping Arizona’s policy landscape, and continued to redefine itself to meet the needs of our, members and the demands of a competitive regional economy. Last year, I talked about the importance of innovation in this disruptive environment and the need to focus on the future rather than the past or the status quo.  A year later, I’m proud to say that we have met that lofty goal…FOR NOW.  During the upcoming year, we will redouble our efforts to innovate, grow, and lead so we can continue to meet the ever changing needs of our members.

Thanks to our member Ideas Collide, an Arizona based marketing and branding agency and former IMPACT Award recipient, we’ve been able to find a new voice and image. Matt Clyde, Founder and CEO, and Joel Eberheart, Vice President of Marketing and Community Development helped us to define a brand that not only matches our new name but aligns with the work we do in the community.  We’ve also changed the look of our offices to match our new image as the Chamber of the future, with an office of the future.  Special thanks to the incredible team at Faciliteq as well as the creative genius of Andrea Perrin of Vicaire Wellness for making this goal a reality.

We are here for the business community in a way that only we can be. We’re here as your connector—connecting you and your business to the people and resources you need to grow. We’re here as your advocate—advocating for our 2,400 members businesses at every level of government. We’re here to develop—developing the economic growth tools needed to create a thriving community. We’re here to strengthen—strengthening the ties between the business community and other communities so that we all work together to move Phoenix forward.

As we push forward, we will continue to evaluate and elevate our offerings. My goal, and my hope is that the Chamber is a space for businesses and business professionals to go when they are looking for real solutions to grow, innovate, and lead the way forward.

Whether your business needs help scaling, has questions about regulatory issues in your local jurisdiction, is dealing with workforce challenges, is seeking to provide wellness resources to your employees, or is looking for a professional, high-level platform to make meaningful business connections, the Greater Phoenix Chamber is here for you.

As we continue to provide the resources that your business needs to succeed and thrive in Phoenix, I hope that you will continue to support us and to stay connected.

This summer, I encourage you to reach out and meet with our team and myself to learn more about how you can maximize your Chamber membership to work for your business and your employees.  As a member of the Greater Phoenix Chamber, you are a member of an elite group of business leaders who are changing the world and our community each and every day!
