Dementia will affect more than 200,000 Arizonans and a half-million family members by the year 2025 — and all of us will be touched by this disease. Few are prepared for the journey ahead or the challenges of caregiving. There has never been a more pressing need for dementia care experts than now.
Hospice of the Valley will award a yearlong fellowship to up to 12 people from a variety of fields to create a project that improves quality of life for those living with dementia, helps support their families and educates our community. Applicants may include health and social service professionals, lawyers, administrators, educators, artists in various fields or others interested in the field of dementia.
Fellowships begin in February 2020, with fellows and their respective organizations each receiving up to $5,000. The time commitment includes two initial days, quarterly half-day meetings, monthly virtual calls and a full day at 12 months.
