PHOENIX – The Greater Phoenix Chamber applauds the Governor’s most recent action to encourage social distancing and mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in Arizona while emphasizing the importance of mental health throughout the stay at home order.

“While it presents significant economic challenges, working together to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 must be a priority for our community,” said Todd Sanders, President and CEO of the Chamber. “Governor Ducey’s steps to encourage social distancing will support the long-term health of our community, while also ensuring that essential businesses remain operational.”

Since the start of this public health situation, the Chamber’s Public Affairs team has been a fierce advocate for businesses, working to ensure that businesses have the appropriate tools to succeed at this time.

“As the voice of business, the Chamber understands how important it is that businesses have access to tools—such as loans and other economic relief efforts—to keep going at this time,” said Mike Huckins, Vice President of Public Affairs. “We’ve been diligently working with local and state leaders and members of Arizona’s congressional delegation to ensure that those resources are available to Arizona businesses.”

During these uncertain times, the Chamber is committed to providing businesses with resources to help navigate these rapidly changing circumstances. Last week, the Chamber launched a COVID-19 Business Resources portal.

“Right now, there is still a significant amount of uncertainty. However, the foundation of our economy is strong, and once we contain COVID-19, we can focus on getting back to business,” said Sanders. “Our team is working diligently to support our members and the business community at large during this time.”
