As we enter into the final months of 2021 and look forward to a new year, the Greater Phoenix Chamber and Foundation have been diligently working with Pearl Esau, Founder & CEO of Shàn Strategies, to develop a 3-year strategic plan. With the social, economic, and political environment experiencing significant changes over the last couple of years, the Chamber remains steadfast in our mission of engaging businesses to promote regional prosperity and serve as a catalyst for sustainable economic growth, and thriving, diverse communities. Our main pillars of work remain consistent with a primary focus on public policy, economic development, workforce development, and connecting businesses with information, resources, and other businesses for continued growth.
As a part of our strategic planning process, the Chamber solicited comprehensive feedback from our team as well as our members through surveys, focus groups, and one-on-one interviews. To remain objective, we selected a diverse group of business leaders, across various industries, business sizes, and demographics. Our strategic plan will not simply be a document on our website. This plan will guide our day-to-day operations and influence the way we serve the needs of Arizona’s community–oriented businesses, resulting in a thriving, well-educated, diverse region.
The key goals we hope to accomplish are to:
- Build a policy environment where business thrives, specifically through public affairs and diligent work of the Chamber’s PAC. We plan to introduce and support policies for sustainable economic growth and prosperity for all. We intend to foster and support innovation through start-up friendly policies and investments.
- Support Arizona’s business growth and retention. We intend to build Arizona’s brand as having a smart, sustainable business climate, strengthen the capacity of the businesses in Maricopa County and statewide, and strengthen post-pandemic small business support.
- Prepare diverse individuals with skills in targeted growth industries with quality jobs. Through the Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation’s pillars and initiatives, we aim to increase students completing aligned education to workforce programs, position Arizona education system to have nationally recognized workforce pathways and facilitate business access to diverse talent with required skills.
As we operationalize the strategic plan, our members and community can expect:
- More personalized experiences by providing businesses the information needed to succeed.
- Meaningful opportunities to connect with your peers in the business community.
- Further opportunities to contribute to developing the workforce you need to thrive.
- Amplified business voice in local politics
Using our strategic plan as a roadmap, the Chamber will lead Arizona’s business community on smart and sustainable fiscal, economic, and environmentally sensitive growth.
