Latest session updates from the Chamber’s Public Affairs Team

The Greater Phoenix Chamber Public Affairs team has been hard at work during the final weeks of proposed legislative bills to be heard and voted on in committees. There are still key bills pertaining to healthcare, water, and infrastructure that the business community is closely watching and engaging on as session progresses. Bills aren’t the only thing being watched down at the capitol. There has been a revolving door of legislative announcements and vacancies in recent years that has yet to reach a stopping point. Most recently, Representatives Marcelino Quinonez (District 11) and Laura Terech (District 4) announced they would not seek re-election to their respective seats for the November election. Representative Jevin Hodge (District 8) resigned from his position, leaving yet another vacancy which the House has been no stranger to recently.

As committees officially conclude for the session, it is likely the House and Senate will take breaks to work in their districts while the budget negotiations continue.
