Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona employees volunteered for Arizona children fighting cancer in partnership with the Jessie Rees Foundation

More than 200 Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (AZ Blue) employees volunteered to pack 1,000 JoyJars® for Arizona children fighting cancer in partnership with the Jessie Rees Foundation. Each JoyJar was filled with toys, games, activities and handwritten notes of encouragement to bring comfort and joy to children receiving treatment.  JoyJars were created by Jessie Rees during her own battle with cancer to bring hope, encouragement and smiles to children facing similar challenges.

The volunteer effort is part of AZ Blue in Action, AZ Blue’s statewide boots-on-the-ground initiative that brings together volunteerism, community partnerships and philanthropy to improve the health and well-being of Arizonans. This is the ninth consecutive year AZ Blue has partnered with the Jessie Rees Foundation, furthering its commitment to supporting Arizona families and making a meaningful impact in the communities it serves.
